Background: Born in Castle Town, Eferion was conceived in the basement of a bar one night, by a Gerudo mother and Hylian father, after a long night of adventure stories and hard booze. He grew up learning the ways of a Hylian, while keeping a strong lineage with the Gerudos, as his mother wouldn't dare see him living the decadent life of one of Hyrule's elite. She knew what was in store for the young one someday.
It wasn't until the Legendary Triforce of myth came back to public knowledge, and fights broke out in search for its mad power.
Eferion's mother, knowing that tension would surely tear their family apart, left with the child one stormy night and fled to the Valley of Gerudos, the land of their people. The father wept in despair, and gave his life defending their trail from pursuers, as rebels always thought little of the Gerudo.
Eferion and his mother were safe for some time after reaching the land of their people, and the Sisters of the Valley welcomed the boy in with open arms, declaring him "Little Prince".
They were given to Gerudo High Society, and the boy lived prosperously among the women, though he never forgot about his Hylian heritage, either, and ordered the end of Ritualistically sacrificing boy-children for their King.
Thus over time the Valley of the Gerudos had an increase in masculine company, increasing the army and workloads dramatically.
It was around this time Eferion changed the rules about naming a Gerudo King and decided that a duel to the death would now settle those matters.
One such day led to the one-on-one with a longtime friend, who in the end Eferion could not kill, and instead took in as the King's adviser.
The Gerudos knew not to question their new King's rule, and allowed for this, but were wary of his next moves thereafter.
For the next few years Eferion's mother grew ill, and the young man sought to change her sorry fate, setting out to take hold of the Legendary Triforce.
He traveled far, but never came close. And when the man arrived home, he discovered that his mother had taken the turn for the worst in his absence.
Saddened, and guilty, the King locked himself away in the Palace and spoke only to his closest friend, until rumors circulated there was a way to undo this tragic fate.
Two women, riding horses black as night, rode in from the desert and appealed to the Gerudo King, speaking of great riches to be found, and a legendary power that could awaken his mother.
These two women were Kotake and Koume, grand sorceresses from ages past, whose worship and love for the mythical king Ganondorf was known far and wide. Eferion was wary at first, and even his Adviser informed him to be careful, but the boy cared little. If there were any possibility of bringing back his mother, he would do it.
The sorceresses told him that, in order to take hold of the Triforce, he was going to travel...far. They led him first to the dwelling of the Great Fairy, who was said to have the power of Foresight.
Appealing to Her, Eferion bowed low and asked if there were any possibility he might succeed in his quest. The Fairy spoke unto him, "Your adventure will lead you to Avarice and Pride, and so Power will sever. Ruin of Worlds, Balance knocked...you will strive, and fail."
Eferion, displeased with her cryptic answer, challenged her words and left.
It wasn't until the sorceresses spoke of Sages...the Sacred Realm and their Dark Lord, did he see what the Great Fairy had meant. He returned to her and asked her again what his fate would be if his intentions were true, and the Fairy said only three words...
"You will fail."
Angered, Eferion unleashed his power then and there, imprisoning the Fairy with powers given to him by the wise sorceresses. Her Sword was his prize, an invaluable item that would lead him to great power.
It wasn't until the sword led him to a rift, that he knew what he must do...
Years later Eferion returned to the Valley of the Gerudos, but his face had been obscured by a frightening mask, and anyone who questioned the King would be met with an even more terrifying death. He turned his sights on Hyrule in the east, staring at the silhouette as it disappeared under Eldin Mountain's shadow, and vowed to get his hands on the Triforce. But first he would have to break into the Sacred Realm, and to do that, he needed Princess Zelda...
